"I normally start collections with rings. SunLit is a ring-heavy brand, and this collection that I've been working on for launch in the new year, called the Shadow Collection, is no exception to that. But in this case, that collection actually started with a pendant. 

 

This Earthly Delight pendant was one of the first pieces that I imagined and made that I knew belonged in this collection, that was going to be the backbone of that collection. The jade, in particular, is meaningful to me, because the Chinese character for jade symbolizes the connection between heaven and earth. And that felt really foundational for a collection like this new one, where it's all about the harmony of opposites. 

 

Jade also has a deeply personal meaning for me, as I lived in Singapore for three years, and jade is a very important part of the Chinese culture there. So, jade connects to that part of my history as well. 

 

I always try to choose stones that have meaning and story, and in this collection, the Shadow Collection, I'm using jade, moonstone, and onyx, each of which has a specific energy vibration, as well as personal significance for me."
